It has been a great achievement by Mindstorm Studios team; to develop, publish and entertain players around the world so much that an international company has re-published the game.

Mafia Farm

It’s been ages since I posted my last post; the only reason for my laziness here is due to my full commitment to a new game Mafia Farm. This is the latest game title released by Mindstorm Studios. The game is also released on Android store. Android users can download this game from this link.

This is the fist online social game developed by Mindstorm Studios. Players with Mafia taste can join in and compete with other similar players around the world. The game also has a world-building component which increases the reputation which in turn increases the chances of winning the raids. The defense items lets your world to handle all the attacks in your absence. You can hire mobsters or purchase villains which increases your attack, defense and reputation. It’s great fun.

Spoiler alert: The new update will have leader boards and facebook connect. ;)

Check out it’s trailer:

It’s never too late to brag about your accomplishments; therefore I am bragging here about what I have done. I successfully ported Whacksy Taxi (iPhone) to Whacksy Taxi HD (iPad) and Whacksy Taxi (Android) for Mindstorm Studios.

Following is the game review:

Last year, Mindstorm Studios released their first game “Cricket Revolution” which won recognition for Pakistan and brought fame to the company too. But that was not enough, Mindstorm Studios has taken a leap forward and has successfully managed to launch Cricket Power – an official cricket game for ICC World Cup 2011.

“We are extremely excited about creating the official title for ICC’s Cricket World Cup 2011” said Babar Ahmed, CEO Mindstorm Studios. “Cricket has long been a subject closely linked to our organisation and we are thrilled to take it to the next level, which is a source of pride for our nation on the digital front.”

I can only wish good luck to these guys for their future endeavors and hope they continue to make our country proud. I am sharing here the links where News and Media have proudly presented Mindstorm Studios to the world.

[Sport] Nine Slips

I just came across these pictures. There are wonders in cricket and some are funny wonders. Placing all fielders together is very interesting and most challenging for a bowler. I hope everyone likes these.

I wish Pakistan put nine slips at least once in a T20 match :P

Happy Cricketing!

There are match-winning centuries and there are Match-winning Centuries. This is what we call Halloween. South Africa cricket team would have never imagined that they will lose their 2nd ODI from Pakistan and will bring an end to their winning streak after 11 matches.

Abdul Razzaq (109* from 72 balls); a performance which is a horror for any opponent team. Though captain Shahid Afridi tried his best but may be it was his partner’s day.

A simple statistics update from cricinfo are:

Smart Stats

  • Abdul Razzaq’s ten sixes in the innings moved him into joint third position among batsmen to hit the most sixesin an ODI innings behind Xavier Marshall (12), and Sanath Jayasuriya and Shahid Afridi (both 11).
  • Razzaq finished with a strike rate of 151.38, which is the second-highest among 100-plus scores in ODIs against South Africa, next only to Ricky Ponting’s 164 off 105 balls in Johannesburg in 2006 (strike rate 156.19).
  • The 12 sixes in Pakistan’s innings were the second highest number in an innings while chasing.
  • This was the fifth occasion that Pakistan have won a match by one wicket. All five wins have come against a different opposition.
  • This was the fourth highest total chased successfully against South Africa in ODIs and the tenth highest by Pakistan
  • This was Razzaq’s first 50-plus ODI score in more than four years, and his first century since September 2004.

Well, although South Africa cricket team was tricked by Abdul Razzaq’s performance, here is a treat for Pakistan cricket fans. ;)

[Game] Howzat

I have been playing a very addictive game online. It’s Cricket.

You can create your own team, change their names, kits, colors and everything. You can upgrade them and you can play with other people like you around the globe. Simply outstanding and great prospects for this in future. To try, you can click on this link.

[Sport] Once in a blue moon

These are the words which came in my mind when I saw the scorecard of 2nd Test match between Pakistan & Australia in July 2010. The scorecard looked like:

This is not what you see frequently for Pakistan. For a Pakistani cricket fan, this scorecard can be some source of joy & happiness. Our cricket team has seen lot of troughs in their cycle and even a small crest (once in a blue moon) brings great hopes in Pakistani hearts. Last time Pakistan defeated Australia in a test match was in November 1995 and this test match just broke the chain of failures against Australia. Not only this, Pakistan outplayed Australia in both T20 matches prior to the test series. Overall the complete series (T20 + Test) have been positive for Pakistan. One never expected that but hey this might be a start of a new era in Pakistan cricket team. Good luck Pakistan cricket team for the upcoming series against England. ;)

A lot has been happening around the world which involves Pakistan in bad sense; the result of which is people here are moving away from it and are leaving Pakistan to find success in their lives. But having said that, the achievements what Pakistan can attain brings patriotism back in our hearts and we again decide to do something for our country which we got in the name of Allah (our creator) and we hope that it will stay for ever and ever. Long live Pakistan.

Another post related to cricket. Couple of days back Shahid Afridi scored a century as an ODI captain of Pakistan Cricket Team. This put me in thought that how many previous Pakistan ODI Captains ever scored a half century or full century….. to lead from the front. According to me, a captain should be the person who should be performing in his area to the fullest, so that others follow his track. There have been great Pakistani Cricket Captains for ODI and following is the list of those who scored at least a half century. Following statistics are calculated till 27th June 2010.

Pakistani Cricket Goes Virtual

Lahore-based Mindstorm Studios have released a cricketing video game called ‘Cricket Revolution‘ that takes virtual batting and bowling to new highs. Flashy visuals and elaborate graphics are foregone in favour of a keener emphasis on gameplay science. Indeed, the game’s batting mechanics are unparalleled. Players are offered plenty of strokeplay options: conventinal cricketing shots, defensive shots, and four options for how to execute shots, including lofted and slog.
